About Me

My name is Aggy Gray I am professional ballet teacher and

ex ballerina.

My passion for dancing began when I was about 9 years old, that is when I joined a local after school dance group. I very quickly realised that dancing is my passion and wanted to make it my profession.

When I was 14 I auditioned for National Ballet Academy of Poland where I successfully passed the exams and was offered a place within the Academy. I always believed that hard work, discipline and focusing on goals always pays off. I was trained within the Russian ballet technique called Vaganova. Within the Academy we had many Russian teachers and we were trained under their ways of teaching.

In 2002 I graduated from the National Ballet of Poland with Diploma of Professional Ballet Dancer.

After that I emigrated to The Netherlands and in 2004

I auditioned for the University of Arts in Rotterdam (Codarts).

I was very lucky to be one of the sixty students who got offered a place out of five hundred who came to audition. Through the education at Codarts I got not only a very high level of training in modern ballet, but I also got a chance to meet some of the best teachers and choreographers from all over the world. The biggest highlight was meeting Sylvie Guillem, who to us, ballet lovers is a muse.

I have graduated in 2008 and achieved a BA Degree in Dance.

After graduation I freelanced as a ballet dancer and worked on various projects and performances throughout the Netherlands. Performing and working as a lift dancer with many different people in the world of art I discovered another passion of mine: Aerial Acrobatics.

In 2009 I joined Corpus Acrobatics Theatre where I learned new skills in Aerial Art (tissues, ring, trapeze).

In 2012 I have moved to UK where I married my husband & shortly after got pregnant with my first daughter. Life totally changed for me. At that point I decided to take a break from my career as a dancer and teacher and raise my daughter. At the same time I wanted to become even more qualified in my profession so I began Masters Degree Programme in Dance at Middlesex University in London. Studying was tough with a little baby, then a year later I got pregnant with my second baby & studying was a real challenge.

In 2015, just 10 days before my second daughter was born, I graduated with Diploma and achieved MA Degree in Professional Practice: Dance Technique Pedagogy.

In 2016 I was ready to concentrate on my career again and have began my journey in teaching ballet within UK.

Teaching had always been my passion and I have started teaching already while studying at the University in my early twenties. Over the 20 years of teaching, I have taught various levels and ages of students.

I have taught in The Netherlands, Belgium and UK. I am a strong believer that you cannot always teach  everything, but you can always inspire. I would not be in the place of dance where I am now, if I did not meet all the wonderful artists and teachers who inspired me along my journey as a student, dancer and  teacher…

At this moment I successfully run Ballet classes for children and Ballet Fit for adults and teenagers. If you feel you would like to come and try some of my classes, I will be delighted to meet you and take you or your child on this wonderful journey of dance. When people ask me about my classes, I always say, that trying yourself is the best policy and you or your child will be the best judge to decide if my school if something you love. If you have any concerns, don't hesitate to get in touch. I will be happy to chat and help.
